Learn About Us
Northwestern MiniChefz is a volunteer student group that aims to educate both Northwestern students and youth in the Chicago area about healthy eating and cooking.
In the fall, members start off the year with training by professional chefs. They learn basic cooking skills and nutrition facts while also engaging in a community of fellow NU students. These sessions combine the fun of cooking with the importance of nutrition, bringing positive change to our campus.

MiniChefz members then go to various community centers across Chicago to host workshops for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Each week, we cook different meals with the children and teach them about their nutritional benefits. Many of these youths lack access to nutrition education and are at risk of increasingly prevalent health problems such as obesity. In this way, MiniChefz provides the opportunity for Northwestern students to make a positive impact on their surrounding community.
